Guys, anyway now I clearly see that I should not take Basecamp is my project management tool. I was thinking which of the two to choose Basecamp or Wrike. I'll go for Wrike now, no doubt!

Morgan, it's hard for me to believe that you aren't PR for rackspace. "Fanatical" isn't an adjective I would use to describe RackSpace - not in the slightest.

My company hinges on Basecamp, to the point I wish they would release or sell the software to install on our internal networks. Even though this is a mild burp, it does point to the larger issue of basing your company's workflow on applications out of your control or reach.

TC of course assumes this is Rackspace's fault-- it is not. 37Signals chose not to have a backup load balancer but instead to rely on their SLA for fixing it. So they were prepared to leave their customers in the air for an hour, regardless.

Then, to think that RS is responsible to clone their configuration within the hardware replacement time, is just childish. They got the hardware replaced in the hour, as they guarantee they will.

Purely 37S's fault, and a terrible bunch of garbage spouted about it by them and TC. Stupid.

I like RS, I use them, it's expensive but they really are fanatical. So the whole thing makes me kind of angry. We have a RAID5 with them, but that doesn't mean we don't make our own backups as well.
