Nearly done with Doma.in names for startups.
    Done with Mormon Facebook rumors.
Totally done with clones of Twitter + “Twitter is down!”.

I can haz is here to stay (limited to cat owners).

Jay, DailyAllen list sounds like a nice format, somewhere between Letterman and Rocketboom :-)

I have no doubt the video is good, but I’d bet there are more than just me that might like the list in text, 9 items take maybe 9 seconds to process and move on for me, and I just would rather not cue up a video for it. Of course I’ve blown my time savings by commenting, but just thought I’d mention it, there are more and more of these.

Nothing against video, but certain data might be nice to copy to text. I wouldn’t mention this if I didn’t care. So few tech blogs palatable enough to read out there :)

  3. Your list is hilarious! Although we have to say… we’re done with your Yankees hat! :oP

  4. centernetworks says:

oh snap – why do you hate on the hat! though i did just get a new hat from seesmic

  5. Tim says:

I couldn’t agree more – the I CAN HAZ, Fail, manga avatars, and O RLY are some of the most annoying and overplayed memes I’ve ever seen.

Both FTW and PWN DEFINITELY have to go, along with l33t sp34k.

They’re all so childish – it REALLY amazes me when people use these terms in professional (or at least public, broadcast) contexts.

  6. Not Being Able To Just Type "Matt" Here Is Obnoxious As Hell says:

I’m done with reading numbered lists (but watching them on video is still in I guess)… I’m also done with commenting on items right away like everyone else… I like to let them drift into the ether for somewhere around the “week” neighborhood before chiming in.

  7. I think this was a good video. Very well done, quick, and funny.

I like the fact that you recorded it without any editing and then posted it.

I saw an interesting comment over there from Chris Brogan and followed it back here.

damn dog – that video rocks

I love this list, Allan. It’s funny. I was clearing out my Jotts and had one that said, “Write a post about how much I hate the term ‘fail.’” It’s angry, and usually makes me really cranky when I read it. Second, I really loathe lolcat speak (only exception: Steve, Zadi, and Kenyatta did a great lolcats presentation at the 2007 PNME).

This was great. I haven’t visited your blog outside of RSS lately, so I’m glad I stopped by for this excellent list!

  11. Chris Brogan says:

Allen, not Allan. Sorry. Sleepy. : (

  12. centernetworks says:

Thanks for stopping by Chris – glad you enjoyed it! You should stop by more often!

  13. Maggie says:

i can haz fail? o rly!

  14. Cloud computing is actually pretty easy to define. I talked about it over here: http://mashable.com/2008/08/19/cloud-computing-defined/

The simplest way to find out what it means is to look it up online. Wikipedia’s entry is pretty thorough.

Personally, while I’m not done with FAIL, I am done with putting up with trolls on the various social networks I frequent. I used to browse around in a perpetual state of annoyed. I’ve been making liberal use of the block feature lately, and it’s made my life worlds better.

  15. Ben2 says:

I think Wikipedia does a great job of defining cloud computing but I think tech blogs do a terrible job of exercising restraint with the term, and Mashable’s not an exception – the other day one of your authors managed to inject “the cloud” in a byline describing the Adobe Flash plugin…. it’s to make your interaction with “the cloud” more enjoyable!

  16. MG Siegler says:

I’m done with Brightkite…until they get an iPhone app.

  17. Jay says:

Allen, you need to do these daily – rocketboom style. Start http://dailyallen.com (it’s available). seriously.

  18. Greg Schnese says:

I totally agree with fail, that word sucks.

Add rockstar to the list of banned words for job descriptions.

    FTW has got to go

dub dub dub != www, don’t say dub dub dub

    Greg

  19. centernetworks says:

dub dub dub – kills me a bit inside when i hear this

  20. Amber says:

This is great. I especially liked #4.

I think people posting job offers / ads in general should stop using street / web / LOL slang, or texting speak. period. Post in whole sentences, use proper grammar. Be professional.

I will have to come back to add more. I got a deadline to do.

  21. plrbear says:

    aye mon then
