Our client is a top tier VC-backed company focused on becoming a next generation ad and commerce widget-based network.

• Social Web and Widgets: Massive and rapidly growing market. Widgets are a driving factor for of the social web’s (ie, social network, blogs, etc) growth, as they enable users to embed content onto their personal pages/profiles from anywhere on the web. Newsweek proclaimed 2007 as the “Year of the Widget”.
• Widgets = A New Content Distribution Model. Business Week reported that widgets fundamentally change the way content is disseminated on the Web, as users consume more content and services from their own personal Web pages. Warner Bros has stated they’re more worries about a movie’s widgets than a movie’s web destination site.
• Widgets = Marketers’ Entry Point for the Social Web. In April, comScore started measuring widget usage in recognition of the size and importance of widgets as a content medium for publishers and advertisers. Marketers recognize widgets as a key component of their communications strategies, as they’re a key channel to gain access to the social web audience. Example, Southwest Airlines reported its widget had 2M downloads and drove $150M in sales.
• Leading Position and Proven, Scaleable Technology. Our client currently tracks and serves over 500M widgets per month, works with leading social networks/blog providers and is used by over 250 widget providers
• Distribution and Advertising Platforms: History of Success. From the early days of the Internet to today, advertising platforms for aggregated content have been successful business models – beginning with with DoubleClick to Google to recently acquired ad networks (ie, Tacoda, Blue Lithium, etc). Our client is positioned to be a key winner in the social web.

Requirements:
* Minimum of 5-7 years advertising sales experience including a minimum of 3 years online experience. Premium CPM Brand advertiser clients and agencies a big plus.
* A significant book of existing accounts and relationships that can be leveraged to generate immediate revenue preferably from Entertainment, Teen and CPG verticals
* Selling sponsorship/rich media programs to agencies and clients direct.
* Proactively soliciting, handling and closing business
* Previous success selling targeted online advertising campaigns.
* Extremely professional, creative-thinker, strategic and aggressive demeanor.
* Bright, hard working and dedicated.
* Strong negotiating and sales skills.
* High energy and sense of humor a must.
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
* Successfully work independently
