Come on, Shawn, percentages make much more sense. More people in China use the internet than in the USA in absolute terms. Does that really say anything useful about the two countries, apart from the fact that there are a lot more people in China?

percentages are really misleading. Based on those numbers only japan beats us in the number of internet users using > 5Mbps.

South Korea - 64% of 34 mill. internet users = 22 mill.
Japan - 48% of 88 mill. internet users = 42 mill.
United States - 20% of 208 mill. internet users = 41 mill.

Cia world fact book for internet users per country.
