AOL Launches AOL Music Now
Earlier this morning, AOL issued a press release that they have launched a new music and video download service.
The title of the release caught my eye immediately:
AOL Launches AOL Music Now, the First and Only Subscription Service to Offer Music Videos for Download to Devices Without Having to Pay Per Download
At first glance it read as if the downloads would be free. But basically what AOL is doing is offering a monthly option in addition to an individual download option. Been there, done that.
The only part of the release that appears to me as "new" is the new artist discovery and XM radio stations. For a monthly charge of $5 you can listen to XM radio on your computer.
They are also offering $50 off a Creative Zen player. Details on the AOL Music Now web site.
