I am waiting for Apple to realize that the have crippled the Touch just enough that the price just doesn’t seem justified.

I’m talking about a) no way to add notes or appointments b) no third party apps, and no 802.1x solution for wifi.

Apple would sell a ton of Touches to physicians as reference source, billing tool, appointment book, and email message conduit. Iphones have to be turned off at most hospitals. Apps to capture patient charge data, help with scheduling, and for drug reference are needed.

I will probably hold out for an iPhone with 3G capability.

I have a touch, it was the first one that I bought because it was the first one that seemed worth the money. I have never cared about 80 gigs worth of space. before that I owned usb style smaller ones. I am with you that is a crap percentage and you have wonder if anyone makes any large amount of money from it. I would bet that CJ has better deals than this.

I’ve got a pristine, over a year old 5G iPod w/Video 30GB. It doesn’t have a scratch on it since it has had a silicone cover and clear plastic screen on it the day since I got it. It works perfectly and I haven’t had a single problem with it. I’ve probably watched a hundred or so old TV shows on it and play back language tutorial mp3s for hours on end every night (I currently keep it in an iHome clock dock.

However, I’m seriously drooling for an iPod Touch, but I haven’t bought one because I’m waiting for a 32GB model. I refuse to get lesser storage than my 5G model. Originally I had hoped Apple would have come out with a 60 or 80GB Touch, but no such luck. I’ll buy a Touch only when it meets my minimum storage requirements. Maybe I’ll only have a few months to wait.

my ipod is about 2 years old – i love it and would never spend $300 for touch. not worth it.

I have the newest version of the Nano (can’t keep track of the various generations and incarnations). It was a gift last fall. I love it, but I only use it for audio. Have yet to find a need for watching a video on a 2″ screen.

i couldn't picture sitting on a bus watching my ipod - i guess it makes sense.... you could catchup on your fave tv show while on the way to work haha

yea wifi is good too - so i guess i understand - but is it worth 200 extra?

I have an iphone and two older ipods. I would absolutely purchase another iPhone once Apple refreshes the line. My iPhone is amazing. I have had multiple Blackberries, but this phone has changed the way I live.

Portable video Allen, this sucker is great for watching video podcasts on the bus(I have an hour ride when I goto the nearest city)

Also the wifi stuff is a def value add for me, just wish they would create an itunes store that allowed you to grab podcasts or a way to grab them off web pages.

Also I just think it feels better than normal ipods. The wife has a 5th gen 80gig and I don’t like it as much.

now if I could get 3g iphone then it would be history :p

And you know what's funny - if you promote the iPod through macmall.com, you make more!

I understand Apple's strategy but they would do better (to their target) if they provided a better affiliate stream.

I just purchased our first iPod – a pink iPod nano for my wife. I’ve owned MP3 players since Creative’s Rio PMP30 but never an iPod. The convenience of the iPod UI and the ability to play video finally sold me on iPod.

I never liked that most people consider iPod to be the original mp3 player!

Personally, I own a 5th gen, 30gig black iPod. It’s an extension of my body – I take it literally everywhere. Even on a night out, to play in the taxi back for everyone.

It’s approaching being full. I listen to many audio podcasts, watch several video podcasts on there too. 25gig of it is music.

I learnt several eons ago that I can never, ever be in a silent place/state. I need music, or at least conversation, 24×7.

One thing that bugs me – I’m very conscious of pissing off the general public who can hear what I’m listening to. I get twangs of guilt on public transport.
