Assistant Producer

Internet Week New York – a rapidly growing festival celebrating New York’s Internet culture — seeks an Assistant Producer to produce and coordinate projects: Web, print, and small events. For the ideal candidate — highly ambitious, creative and self-reliant with strong writing and communication skills — it will be a multi-faceted position, complete with considerable room for growth in a fun and learning-driven work environment.

Your Role at Internet Week

As our esteemed Assistant Producer, you will support the lead producer by managing time-lines, vendors and human resources for a range of projects such as Web sites, direct mail, print campaigns and live events to support Internet Week’s initiatives. You will be an absolutely vital part in the marketing of Internet Week New York to the world outside our office.

The ideal candidate is a top-notch project manager with a creative background who can also make strategic and leadership contributions to a wide variety of the company’s creative initiatives. Some typical tasks for the Internet Week Assistant Producer:

*Coordinate relationships with outside vendors (coordinating internetweekny.com with Web and software developers, assist in producing events with in-house team and outside production company).

*Plan, create and coordinate production schedules for Website, email marketing, social marketing and creative materials.

*Write corporate communications copy– email newsletters, sponsor updates, Web site, etc.

Experience Required:

* 1-2 years as a coordinator, producer or project manager in a
creative, event marketing or technology related field

* Creative background — you studied people who make things or make things yourself

* Proven ability to develop and produce communication materials for
corporate communications, Web sites, marketing collateral, etc.

* Proven ability to collaborate and coordinate with community members and stakeholders

* Proven ability to meet deadlines and work with people in a small office environment

Skills Required:

*Strong written and verbal communication skills

*Commitment to learning

*Detail oriented with a commitment to quality

*Computer savvy — strong candidates will be highly proficient in the desktop environment (MS Office and more), comfortable learning new computer skills, and ambitious about using information technology in all facets of work; Design software knowledge a HUGE plus: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign. Can you FTP files? Do you know how to make a PDF? Can you get files ready for a printer?

*Web Skills — ideally (but not required) soft skills (html, css) and
a strong sense of information design.

*Self-reliant, sharp, well informed, opinionated and open-minded

*Immersed and passionate about media, creative culture and the Internet

*Outgoing, dynamic and easy to be around; no drama

*Able to easily form and maintain relationships

*An excellent aesthetic and strong sense of personal style; you have your passions — art, music, sports, etc. — and want to balance them with your professional life.
