Bitstrips – Comic Strip Creator
by Allen Stern on March 9th, 2008

The expo hall opened today at SXSW and I was able to capture an interview with Bitstrips. Bitstrips claims they are the “YouTube for Comics” and allows you to create/draw a comic or cartoon, share and embed it along with blog features. Check out the Bitstrips demo below.
The Bitstrips team has created a comic related to the Facebook keynote.

You might want to try toonlet as well. toonlet puts the focus on character creation and customization, and features a powerful avatar tool so you can make cartoon characters that look authentically hand-drawn.
From there, it’s easy to build out a library of moods for your characters to use in their comic strips.
Swing on by and check out the site, or take the toonlet tour:

Let us know what you think!
Thanks!

this is great, just lost an hour of my life. If this takes off you will see this on most blogs
I think the key for bitstrips to succeed is simple – following events – like with the keynote yesterday – there was a comic in 15 minutes – the bitstrips team needs to be monitoring blogs and anytime someone mentions something that they have a comic for – fire off an email.
