Brightcove Signs Major Distribution Deal With German Media Company
Online video host Brightcove is announcing a new partnership – its first large deal in Germany — with Gruner + Jahr AG & Co KG. Gruner + Jahr AG & Co KG is Europe’s largest magazine publisher and the company will use Brightcove’s "Internet TV" technology to serve ad-supported videos.
"Working with G+J, Europe’s largest magazine publisher, as our first customer in Germany is a significant milestone for us as we begin our expansion in continental Europe," said Jeremy Allaire, chairman and chief executive officer of Brightcove. Brightcove is already signing deals in the U.K. including their deal with Channel 4.
This continues a line of distribution deals stateside for Brightcove including most recently IAC last month. In my use of the Brightcove platform as a consumer, I find the experience to be very smooth.
And to all of you startups out there, remember that there is a market outside San Francisco.
