Business Process Analyst

Position Description

Highly organized, self-directed individual with excellent communication and execution skills to help design and implement exceptional service experiences for Dow Jones customers. Will oversee the business aspects of operational and technical projects from conception through completion. The analyst is responsible for working with cross functional teams to outline business requirements; translating those requirements into organizational processes, functional designs and task level flows; and validating that the ultimate solution meets business objectives and customer needs.

Position Requirements

•2-3 years Business Process Consulting experience designing, documenting and implementing business processes and architectures
•Oversees customer service websites including improvement & additions of new functionality.
•Analyzes website traffic data and makes recommendations for enhancements.
•Prepares and manages work plans.
•Executes work plans by demonstrating strong problem solving & implementation capabilities.
•Discovers, analyzes, synthesizes & documents process needs impacting several areas of the Customer Experience.
•Participates in the definition of the project’s scope.
•Translates process requirements into implementation & capability requirements that will be used by the development team if systems work is required.
•Facilitates sessions with the process owners & users to validate the functional design of the process based solution.
•Represents the interests of Dow Jones customers & internal process owners & users in the technical design process.
•Works to develop the operational architecture including use cases, process maps & flows, swim lanes diagrams, website wire frames, task descriptions & input/output maps.\’
•Develops components of the Implementation Roadmap.
•Communication of project status & management of priorities across business units.
•Keeps abreast of new & emerging processes & technologies, making appropriate recommendations for their use.
•Approves test plans built from business requirements.
•Supports quality assurance/testing efforts with hands-on support.

Overview

•Experience working in a Web production environment with a development team.
•Must be highly organized & possess superior analytical & problem solving skills.
•Independent, quick learner; flexible; process oriented; proactive.
•Strong interpersonal & relationship building skills.
•Excellent written & verbal communication skills – comfortable interacting with internal clients & development teams.
•Very good managing own time – project management experience a plus.
•Working knowledge of PowerPoint / Excel / Visio / Word
•Good ability partnering with others to quickly understand business issues/needs & develop analyses & answers.
•Creative & technical understanding & opinion of what is effective.
•CRM Project Implementation experiences a plus.
•Previous Consulting experience a plus.
•Previous Fortune 500 experiences in a matrixed organization a plus.
•Requires 10-20% travel
•BA/BS with emphasis on Business or Technology; MBA a plus
