ChubbyBrain – Bloomberg for High Value Private Companies

During my trip to the NYU-Poly incubator, NY-based startup ChubbyBrain provided a brief overview of their service. I’ve embedded the video below. The ChubbyBrain team notes that they think of their service as, “Bloomberg for high value private companies”. They are currently targeting about 500,000 companies. The service provides a directory of companies with detailed information including funding, M&A, customers and statistical details. You can setup a watchlist of companies that interest you along with the ability to take a widget for offsite viewing.

They syndicate their data to GigaOm, Xconomy, ReadWriteWeb and some other blog and media partners. They aren’t trying to be a blog, rather a data provider to media outlets and entrepreneurs. The ChubbyBrain team is currently located in the NYU-Poly incubator.
