Part of the attractiveness is the frequent updates and personalized service from the team. Given the way things have played out for sites like del.icio.us, flickr, etc. it would be tragic to see a site with such forward momentum get stalled under the weight of corporate bureaucracy. While the $$ would be great for them, I hope you are wrong about them being acquired.
