Facebook fanatic? Funded NYC social media start-up focused on youth sports is seeking two committed Web Production Assistants for full time employment with room for growth. This rare opportunity to join a veteran team targeting a hot yet under-served segment is ideal for a recent college grad eager to learn what it takes to build a start up. We are looking for a smart, organized, and technology-minded self-starter possessing a desire to learn new software technology. Experience with user generated content a major plus since engaging members with interactive content is core to our mission.
We’ll list the requisite responsibilities and requirements below, but none are more important than attitude and creativity. We’re a team that enjoys each other’s company, finding creative solutions to challenging problems, working hard and celebrating success.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The required work is moderating content uploaded by the site’s users; we have certain standards that users must adhere to and the person would be making sure uploaded content is meeting those requirements
- Assist in uploading content to the site on a daily basis
- Continuously surveying popular video sites on the Web to identify newly released video
- Maintaining and configuring crawling technology to ensure new video is properly indexed
- Advising on prioritization and administration for the ingestion of partner video feeds
- Working with the team to ensure 24×7 coverage of breaking new videos
- Identifying opportunities to streamline video indexing infrastructure
- Assist in maintaining and updating the editorial calendar; collaborate with Managing Editor to develop and execute against production schedules (site updates, emails, reporting and other tasks as assigned)
- Work closely with the Managing Editor and Director of Online Community on all video/editorial aspects of the site including the generation of plans for upcoming site content and new editorial initiatives.
- Play a critical role in the copy flow process, serving as a fact-checker
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.A/B.S from an established College or University
- PC/Internet savvy with experience in website, broadband video and/or editorial management as well as Web 2.0 concepts and properties
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills; must be comfortable working in fast-paced, startup environment
- Self-starter approach to work, ability to handle multiple projects, with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
- Passion for youth sports a plus
