I want to clarify that, to my knowledge, a PR firm isn&#039;t responsible for purchasing keywords or managing SEO programs - the marketing firm or department does. 

PR does help in terms of &quot;adroitly&quot; leveraging press release for good SEO, which would help on the organic search. On this point, I would agree with you -today&#039;s PR practioner should have a basic understanding of how a press release and other content can be leveraged for SEO on behalf of clients.
