Daylife launches – Arrington/Rubel disagree on its worth/value

DayLifeA new news aggregationtool launched in Beta mode today. Daylife appears to have already been reviewed by two of the top writers in the biz. Mike Arrington is not thrilled with it, while Steve Rubel calls it a "winner".

Mike says, "After quickly reviewing the launch product, I am unhappy to report that I am underwhelmed by what Daylife has to offer."

Steve says, "It offers a clear view of the top stories in a way that harkens back to the day when print ruled."

Mike closes with, "What makes Daylife stand out is not so much what it does well, but what’s been left out. There are no RSS feeds, even for your bookmarked stuff. Even worse, there’s no ability for users to leave comments on articles, a feature that has been wildly successful at NewsVine and Topix. "

Steve closes with, "it's a winner."

What do you think of this new news tool? Is it underwhelming or a winner?

its dull. I don’t see the point of it with so many other sites like it out there.

I think if I was Mike I would not be impressed after investing cash in this.

why is there no RSS out?

It’s pretty… but I don’t think it brings anything new to the table.

‘Covers’ could be a quick way to sort through news, but it loads too slowly and w/o enough info to make it worthwhile.

    But at least its pretty.

I just realized there are no videos. That seems like an important part of news.
