Director of Advertising
Seed Media Group is a global science media and communications company that produces the award-winning popular science magazine Seed as well as ScienceBlogs – the web’s largest conversation about science, featuring over 100 blogs and 1.3 million monthly unique visitors. We are seeking a seasoned sales professional to grow online and print advertising revenue for these flagship properties as well as to develop new advertising programs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead online and print sales activities across Seed Media Group’s platforms and develop strategies to increase revenue
- Oversee sales team, including monitoring performance, sales training and accountability for overall revenue goals
- Management of advertising financial and share of market reports
- Liaison between marketing, editorial, production and accounting staff
- Work with marketing to oversee integrated advertising programs
- Create new print and online programs to drive revenue
- Manage key accounts
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of successful consultative selling and minimum 3 years in online ad sales
- Sales management experience
- P&L responsibility
- Experience in dealing with senior-level executives of major global organizations
- A proven track record of success in print and online ad sales
- Strong strategic and creative thinking skills
- Strong prospecting and closing skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
