Don’t Text Message While Crossing Train Tracks!
This story makes me believe this won't be the last time we read something like this as more and more people don't pay attention to what's going on around them because the lure of the vibrating messaging device takes control.
From Cincinnati, Ohio – A man sending a text message avoided being hit by a train going in one direction only to be struck by another train. TV station WLWT reports:
Witnesses told police the man was looking down at his cell phone as he crossed some railroad tracks around 9 a.m. at Township Road and Elmwood Avenue in Elmwood Place.
Witnesses said the man waited for a southbound train to pass, put his head down and started walking across the tracks.
There is a video from the scene on the WLWT web site. It appears the man's injuries are not life-threatening. Must have been a really important text message.
