ekkoTV - IM Video Chat
Written by Allen Stern - May 19, 2008
Tonight at the NY Video 2.0 meeting, ekkoTV presented their service. The ekkoTV service is a flash-based video and audio chat that uses the major IM clients (AIM, Yahoo, Google, MSN) to create your buddy lists. Once you sign in to ekkoTV, you just click on the name of the person you'd like to video chat with and they get an invite. The invite goes to a Web page and the chat is on. It's pretty slick looking. Appears to compete with other NY startups ooVoo (our coverage) and SeeToo (our coverage). I am not sure it competes with SeeToo but sure does compete with ooVoo.
Here's their demo - the presenter moved around like crazy and I tried to stay with him!

Hi there, pretty nice demo of video chat software. But actually i faced troubles with http://www.ekko.tv/multicon/Room.aspx Speed was awfull. I'm not sure if it was my internet connection lack but using paid service like flash video chat from FlashComs i got nice service, supported by their technicians and connection was perfect. And.. ooVoo remains very useful service :)
