You forgot the FlipCam with extra AA batteries. The mobile generator that can keep a couple of laptops going. The extra water and food in the garage to help you survive a week of being cut off from the rest of the world. The checklist of things to do when an emergency happens (I won’t forget next time to create a friendfeed room and then go to these search engines:

You left out the satellite phone which is necessary because, contrary to popular belief, news does occur where there is not a cellular network sufficient for high speed sharing of video and text. The reason I ignore news about iPhone apps, Apple and AT&T ignore me.

Absolutely hilarious. It’s embarrassing sometimes how self-important these A-listers are sometimes. As if opening a FriendFeed room after an airline crash would be helpful to everyone involved.

Let me clue you in Scoble – the people who were standing on the wing of their plane in the middle of the Hudson river couldn’t have cared less about anyones Tweets or FreindFeed rooms. They wanted rescue boats and real contact with real, in-person people. It’s a perfect example of how this whole social media thing has gotten way overblown in terms of its usefulness.
