AzoogleAds Rebrands As Epic Advertising – Let’s Play The “Which Name Is Worse” Game!
NY-based AzoogleAds has announced the completion of their rebranding campaign today. The new company name is "Epic Advertising" which they state also completes the integration of search engine marketing firm Bazaar Advertising. Both the Bazaar Advertising and AzoogleAds brands will remain under the Epic Advertising umbrella.
I’ve never cared for the AzoogleAds name since they launched years ago. It looks like a combination of the state of Arizona (AZ) plus Google plus Advertising. The new name pushes them into a corner by using the word "advertising" in the name. All over the Epic Advertising home page is the word "marketing". Marketing is the umbrella which advertising is a piece of, not the other way around. Epic Marketing andĀ Epic Strategies are both better names. What happens if they acquire a Web development shop?
Seth Godin had an excellent discussion on naming your company last week – well worth a read.

I think the name AZoogle was derived from “A to Z” – full spectrum and “oogle” (which is a very popular ending for many names these days) :)
