Facebook Down on October 5th
No idea what’s up with all the downtime over the past couple of weeks! It appears now social networking site Facebook is currently out of action. Reports are coming in rapidly that the site is either completely not loading and/or the service is loading very slowly. I am unable to access Facebook currently from multiple Internet connections. Twitter users are also noting issues connecting to Facebook.
From what I can tell the non-logged in Facebook is working but the portions where you need to be logged in to use are currently down.
I received the following message on several refreshes:
Internal Server Error – Read
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Perhaps this downtime is related to the press briefing on Wednesday afternoon. Two weeks ago Facebook suffered their longest outage.
Blogger Robert Scoble noted this evening that he will be interviewing Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg tomorrow. I guess some of the questions will be related to the recent server performance.
Update 1AM Eastern – Facebook is back – resume posting photos, videos, other media and liking everything!
We have emailed Facebook for more information and will update this post when we hear back.

i have been uble to connect to face book for the past two days and counting
im lost without facebook!! any1 know when this problem will be sorted?
I haven’t been properly on facebook since friday night, wont load properly & get white screen quite alot after loggin in.
anybody know how to email the real facebook ive been emailing facebook uk and they dont even reply to you its been like this since friday night its loading but all iam getting is a blank white screen ive not been disabled so its a problem with facebook i just want anwsers when it will be back on

10/22/2010 and Facebook is down in Florida too. Guess I should stand up, blink my eyes, and see what that big glowing thing is outside my window.
Facebook is down for me right now. i got up and tried to check it out real quick before i got in the shower and couldn’t even get to the logg on page.

I’m in San Francisco and it’s 10:22pm and I cannot log into Facebook. However, I can log in from my iPhone4 and other people who are on mobile phones are telling me they are experiencing the same issues on the computer…but not on the phone.
1:15am Eastern Time — Facebook is still down……

1:06 am – Facebook is NOT back up!

I’m occupying my time thinking about conspiracy theories about why Facebook is down… It must be some angry mouslims getting revenge for those damned cartoons.
My facebook also has been down for the last half hour. I was just able to log on for 2 minutes and then it went down again. Thinking of going to sleep instead.
Facebook is down here in PA. Benn down for the last 30 minutes that I know of.
Also, I want to let all of my friends know that facebook is down… but I can’t log on to facebook to tell them!
I had my computer on, and facebook was okay. I rebooted, and facebook was down. I always get a bit paranoid when that happens (did I pay my bill? Yes, whew). It’s still down, and I’m typing this about 30 minutes later.
What am I doing in the meantime? Catching up on other internet stuff, reading a book, and having a VERY late supper. I’m not panicked about it, and it doesn’t overly affect my life, although it is slightly annoying. I hope if they are unveiling a redesign that it is a decent, easy-to-use one.
It’s 1:12 AM ET, and facebook is back up for me. But, who knows…it might go away again if they’re performing some kind of maintenance or upgrade. Has anyone checked the fb blog to see if tonight is some kind of scheduled maintenance night?
I’m an American in Japan, and facebook is down here, too. Can’t access it on my iphone, computer, or even receive updates via my desktop gadget.
