25 Facebook Vanity URLs You Can’t Have
Yesterday we took a look at why your own domain name is a stronger branding option than a Facebook vanity url. There will be some rules about the naming of vanity urls when they go “on sale” on Friday.
As I was browsing around, it appears many names are already taken. I present the following list so that you can plan accordingly. The following 25 names are already taken — how they were given is not 100% known. It does appear that our friends at the cupcake factory may have had something to do with it. BFF status also seems to be another way in. Note that this list does not include brand names.
Update: Amit has put together a neat vanity url checker.

Whoops, found out that pages with <1000 followers don’t get names till later in the month.
Wondering how I get vanity names for both my profile and my Page – they’re both on the same email address…
Not by me, I might add.
http://facebook.com/aaron is already taken.
I miss arrington? ;)
Damn! I really wanted that ‘pdiddy’ URL, too. Oh well. Wonder if ‘notorious’ is gone yet…
I am so interested to see how all of this goes down on Friday. I think people will be tripping over themselves to get their own subdomain of FB, but I have a feeling its going to start out as somewhat of a mess.
http://www.facebook.com/scobleizer is already taken.
Guess what… facebook is already taken, although it triggers an error on the site.
isn’t it sad Wayne – this is how people get on the twitter default list – how they get early access to links – etc.
Amit – that rocks – adding a link to the story
Let’s make that 27 facebook.com/wayne is taken with what looks like a facebook friend/employee of a friend. Either way it’s taken. Also I don’t have enough “fans” to get a unique url for my fanpage either. So, you know what I’ll be doing at 12:01 on Friday for my profile. Although I do have my on domain facebook.socailwayne.com for my page …. When will it be over…..
Allen – Here’s a small tool I wrote for searching URLs that are already gone.
