Fixya Partners With BestBuy and GeekSquad
Fixya is a crowd sourced tech support site which Roi Carthy first wrote about last June. In his review, Roi called the site, "tech support by the people for the people." The site is similar to Yahoo Answers which we profiled yesterday in that users post questions they need help with and other users help with the answers.
Today they are announcing a partnership with electronics retailer BestBuy and their Geek Squad tech support division. The partnership will allow both BestBuy and Geek Squad customers to access a customized version of Fixya. Geek Squad experts will contribute to Fixya to increase the total number of experts that Fixya houses.
Fixya claims 7 million users contribute 100,000 new questions and solutions each month, covering 800,000 consumer products spanning all categories.
