Gary Vaynerchuk’s Park Avenue Motivational Discussion (video)
Tonight the Mashable blog attempted to hold an event where wine man Gary Vaynerchuk was supposed to speak about motivation. There were a baker’s dozen of technical issues so we all moved outside to the corner of 54th and Park Ave. and Gary gave his motivational speech outside.
While I don’t agree with everything he says, it’s worth watching the video. The part where he talks about hustle is very important. So many startups I talk to believe that when they hit "launch" the traffic, orders, users, etc. will just magically arrive. It’s not like that – you need to hustle every minute of every day. When you watch the video, notice what brand you see on Gary’s shirt the whole time – it’s about the hustle.
Here’s his video – enjoy the NYC sounds and note that Gary does use many swear words during his outdoor presentation.

Great video – thanks for sharing!
Thanks for recording the video, enjoyed it. Gary V. is on point.
I’m @waynesutton on twitter and I’m hustling like @garyvee
The first time I learned about winelibrary.tv was when I was driving and saw a billboard, I was on RT.22 in Jersey. I’m not too interested in wine and I’ve never been to the site. But the video above is so deep.
It makes you ask yourself “Am I fucking passionate about what I’m doing” . Because that’s what I believe will take you places and he’s made it very clear that if you’re passionate and you understand your space and customer base and do everything you have to do to make them happy that you will be successful because that’s all you can be. I loved this video and I thank you for putting it up. THE HUSTLE IS IN YOUR PASSION!
Thanks again Gary! Gary is always on point. I am ready to make things happen now with my golf coaching services…
tony, you’re right, you never know who you’ll run into. I’m in balto. will try to make it to bethesda for a meal. great to see offline bus. here. I have a real estate bus and downturn is the BEST thing that happened. forced me to get serious in past year about marketing and providing 10x more value than we have in the past. cheers. todd
Gary V is a crazy man and I love it. Great conversation, and hearing the NY noise that I miss out here in Hawaii was nice. Best point is that this technology and communication tool does not cost money, it costs time. Although time is money, people need to find time because it’s a whole lot easier than to find money. Go out and play in the field people!
Bravos, thanks for sharing. The usual good job on the part of Gary.
I struggle with what to do with this amazing video. Do I share it with others or keep this pot-o-gold close to the vest?
It truly isn’t about “numbers” it’s always about passion.
Way to go Allen for capturing this magical moment. The street scene adds to the urgency.
Gary should run for president.
I get motivated every time I watch Gary. Thanks for this video. I’m re-motivated.
Hey Adam – I’ve updated the post – I saw Gillian’s post – we don’t want people thinking that people are mad that Pete was a no-show! :)
Hey Allen,
FYI, you might want to update your post noting that “From what we hear from our sources, the bar was not happy that Pete Cashmore didn’t show up and therefore wouldn’t lower the music so Gary could speak. ” was a joke, since most people don’t get your humor…
As you know the Mic failed and therefore Gary and Mashable responded to resolve the issue.
Thanks for upping this Allen! It is the same message that Gary has been talking about, but it doesnt get old since people arent using it to its fullest.
Where can I get some CN schawg?
Gary, as always, leaving his fans inspired and awestruck how much passion he has. Also, leaves us wishing that we had the next winelibrary idea. My company is moving into a pretty exciting space we call “creative engagement advertising” and will soon start killing it there. We know the advertising model is changing but its all about creating win-win situations and that’s what our new product does at a fraction of the price. Similarly to the way gary sold “eyeballs” on his site early on, our product is going to get you eyeballs for longer, more engaged and have direct purchase loops. Get ready for it :)
Amazing video! Thanks so much for putting it up! This is a huge motivation, hopefully for everyone!
anytime Frank – I’ve got stickers – you may have noticed one on Gary :)
send me your snail mail addy and I will mail you one
but you see, I just checked out your site, and I’m a Chef / Restaurant owner in Bethesda , Md..ya never know who’s looking :)

lol – we don’t do video comments :) because they are of no real value. so leave a nice text comment!
Love this video and love the Gary V energy tornado. We’re nicher than the smallest niche but feel highly inspired to go forth and ‘crush it.’ I like that Gary says the platitudes but then also gives examples. On another video he talked about commenting on 100 blogs a day at one point, which gives me a picture and a goal as to what ‘crushing’ actually is! I’m celebrating if I can find one blog to post on….
The video touches on a lot of things but the message is solid. It took us a year to figure out what we actually should be doing with our startup. You need incredible patience in this world. Great Internet brands take years to create. Nothing happens overnight.
HEY, WHERE DO I POST MY VIDEO COMMENT / PLUG FOR MY SITE!!!!
dont make me go to techcrunch.
if you are a blogger check out BloggersTM.com and post your blog!
Word got out on Twitter that this happened, and we kept up with the bizarre turn of events via the twitter search. Thanks for having the snap to tape it and posting the video. I know a lot of people will be very excited to see this in all its glory, and shame on the dumb venue who showed zero customer service (from this distance, it appears.)
You’re welcome Kris – I think the video came out pretty good, you can hear him (and the other people) pretty darn well considering all the NYC sounds… I can tell you I will never have an event at that location!
hi Gary great video mate
Fantastic, genuine soapbox action in NYC. Thanks for the tips, glad we were able to share this unique keynote?
Allen, Great stuff as always from Gary.. He is the Man!!!!
That was an awesome freaking vid GV!
Who ever posted this, thanks, YOU rock!
Kill it!
–Z–
I <3 Gary. He’s such a rock star!
And his comment near the end about paying attention when platforms change, he’s dead-on about that!
Allen, Thanks for sharing this with video. Good stuff as always!
Thanks for shooting the video and posting.
I follow GV and was wondering what went wrong in NY.
He continues to prove that a message is powerful when it has content.
It is NOT the venue or the flashy room.
Thank You,
Love his energy too…even in my brick and mortar, I use as much social media as possible…really helps locally to spread the word, for cheap!..and I happen to enjoy it too!
Baller
Thanks for the video Allen. Gary gave a great “outdoor keynote” and, as usual, I left inspired to go out and crush it. The best part about Gary, aside from the palpable energy he throws off constantly, is that he has the sand to tell it straight up: he told Tim Zagat that he is “getting his face beat in” by Yelp (after the video ends, alas). Baller.
Great video. Thanks to centernetworks for upping it, and to Gary to doing it. That man is a constant inspiration to me. Keep up the good work!
