Gift Exchange 2.0
Earlier today, I started thinking about the holidays (Christmas, Hanukkah, etc.) and about gift giving. And I remembered those Secret Santa and/or gift exchanges we did in school or at work. So I thought, what about if we Web 2.0 people had a gift exchange?
So how will it work – should be pretty simple (unless someone has a better idea):
- Send me an email on (closed for 2006)
- Include your name, your blog/site, gender, likes/dislikes and your address including country
- Then I will pair people up based on location and likes/dislikes
- The sender will then receive your information and begin the hunt for the perfect gift
- When the sender sends out your gift, the sender should send a copy of the mailing receipt to me and I will keep track of all of the gifts
- When you receive your gift, you will send a note to me and to the sender
Only rule is that the gift must be under US$15 not including shipping. Since December 11th appears to be the cutoff date for sending packages overseas via airmail for guaranteed delivery by Christmas, I would give out the names on December 5th.
Yes, there is a lot of trust involved. But I think we can trust each other. So I have no idea honestly if this will work – but I thought it might be fun and festive all rolled into one!
If others have ideas about ideas for this, please let me know! Tell everyone you know!
