GoDaddy’s Super Bowl Commercial – Kevin Rose from Digg to be featured!

Allen Stern - January 10th, 2007

GoDaddyGoDaddy just sent over their details for the GoDaddy Super Bowl commercial. It appears that Candice Michelle will be one of the stars again. But for us Internet people, they have not left us out! The spot will include Internet celebrities Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht from Digg, along with Cali Lewis from GeekBriefTV.

Last year, GoDaddy.com aired its commercial twice and attracted more visitors to its Web site than any other advertiser, according to comScore. Also, Akamai credited GoDaddy.com as the site accounting for 80 percent of two separate and significant Web spikes on game day.

Bob Parsons, GoDaddy CEO said, "We have a great range of talent for this year's commercial and you can count on it being GoDaddy-esque."

All I can say is WOW and can't wait to see how they bring together Internet celebs with Danica Patrick and Candice Michelle. I am sure that Valleywag will have some fun with this one :)

yeah I don’t think you do Allen. That was just my rant at Digg :p

Your posts actually made change the design on an idea I am working on and actually take the comments out of it.

very odd, I can’t stand the way kevin Rose is made out to be the new coming and no one will take a pop at digg because ofthe traffic they get.

Lets face it digg started as news but has now become worthless, the front page after Steve Jobs keynote was all mac related and thats just maddness. Digg has become a battle ground for fanboys and splogs.

The video and podcasting features are great but the rest isn’t.

Don’t even get me started on their community developer relations.

umm Darren – didn't you see my 2 posts about Digg last week and why they should not be indexed in Google and why they should not allow comments?

I hope I can make you understand over time that I will never endorse something for some hits or whatever. I was a former accountant and took an oath in 1994 never to do that. I have passed up lucrative ad deals that felt 1/100th shady when most others would have taken them.

  4. Just saw the GoDaddy commercial during the superbowl and definitely spotted Kevin Rose. Very cool I must say.

I am in a hotel with no tivo dangit!!!

Candice said that would be the hottest commercial ever – certainly didn't seem that hot to me.

  6. Darren Stuart says:

this is news? come on Allen this is just digg bait…

  7. centernetworks says:

Nope – it was already on Digg 2 days ago… and believe me Darren, every single story that gets on digg even close to the home page has been buried – I haven't had a digg in months.

I got the PR this morning and thought it was interesting that Internet "celebs" are now going to be featured in the mainstream when I bet 99% of the viewing audience has no freaking clue what Digg, Diggnation or an iPhone is or cares about same.
