Count me out on this one. But, Google name aside, I think what we’re seeing is some diversification of offerings in this space, and that’s good. Just remember, Amazon has an a la carte offering that makes a LOT of sense for a lot of us (as it did for you, and as this doesn’t, exactly) … and don’t forget Joyent, either, which has a nice lineup of its own running on rock-solid Solaris boxes they’ve tweaked out.

When I saw this announcement a few minutes ago, I thought “yeah, I’ll join this!” Since it was only just past Midnight in america I thought I’d actually be one of the first 10000. But it seems I was wrong. I get told that I’m on the “waiting list”, which I presume means that they’ve already got 10000??? Can anybody confirm this? I just can’t believe that they’ve got 10000 is under an hour, even if it is Google.

btw, this is a great service IMO!! :) More competition and all that. Besides, I think Google has the capacity, and sharing it is the next step.
