Google — Best Performing Company in the U.S.
BusinessWeek has announced their top 50 best performing companies in the U.S. This year, Google takes the top spot. They note that Google has been able to dominate in Internet advertising just as they did previously with Internet search. I am guessing the article was written before the stock dipped about 2-3% this past week.
From the BusinessWeek article, “What BusinessWeek 50 companies share is an unshakable passion for excellence. The Class of 2007 is chock full of companies that are rewriting the rules of engagement in their industries. They are the agitators, the pioneers, and the game changers that are leading the way in the 21st century. If there’s one common trait among them, it’s the degree to which these companies don’t take their success for granted. Truth is, many work hard to anticipate and head off potential problems well before outsiders are even aware of these looming challenges.”
Some of the other Internet related companies include: Amazon.com (11), Adobe (19), and for all of you Apple lovers, they came in at 34.
