Hearst UK Signs Pluck For Social Networking; U.S. Next?
by Allen Stern on February 21st, 2008
Hearst digital out of the U.K. has announced that they have hired Pluck to power their social networking portals on a variety of Hearst digital properties. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Hearst digital claims to reach four million women every month — one third of all women online in the UK.
The initial set of Web sites that Pluck will power include:
Other players in this space include NY-based KickApps and Magnify.net along with Valley-based Ning. With the huge number of magazine Web sites that Hearst maintains in the U.S. will Pluck soon power those as well?
