i’minlikewithyou Demo – OMGPOP
The last presenter of the evening at the September NY Tech Meetup was iminlikewithyou. Killer Startups reviewed this application in June. Frankly, coming out of this demo, I have close to no idea what this application does. The presenter started by saying he is very nervous and standing next to him appeared to be a model of some sort. It turns out she “won” a game on the site which allowed her to come to the Meetup. The pre-recorded demo showed us lots of pictures of women with large breasts in tight t-shirts and skimpy bikinis. I guess it doesn’t matter what your app does if you sell sex :) They seem to only want good looking people inside and have put methods in place to keep “normal” people out. In fact, the model only said a few words, but she did say that if an ugly guy keeps bidding on you, you just ignore him.
From what I can tell, you play games which give you points and those points allow you to bid on the man or woman you like. The games are also based around people. Maybe I am missing something.
I am going to attempt an on-site interview with their team in the coming days in the hopes of learning more about what the application actually does.
The service is now known as OMGPOP.
Here is the video from the demo:

I have been waiting for a while to try out this site. Could you PLEASE send an invite to redsox6391@yahoo.com? Thanks! =]
Hi,
could you send me an invite to this adress: a9wsJ1Le9Q0HAM2G@spambox.us ?
would be great. Thank you!
I’ve been on it for months now and have invited several friends to join. Highly addictive, lots of fun, have won over 30 games, met/talked to several people through it.
I like that the flirting process is out in public. So much more fun than closed dating sites.
Ask nicely and I’ll give you an invite.
I did a review of iilwy on my site. I have to say, the overall usability is amazingly good, especially for a new invite-only site like this. They definitely thought things through when they designed this.
The only drawback worth mentioning is that there are still too few users. I did a search of my hometown in Houston (4th largest city in the US) only found 2 users in a 50 mile radius. Hopefully, it will continue getting users and reach critical mass.
I assume that there’s so few users because it’s still so difficult to find an invitation.
If you still can’t find an invite, I have one to give away at http://www.michaellundberg.com/2007/09/16/free-invitation-to-im-in-like-with-you/
Thanks,
Michael Lundberg
