Interactive Creative Director

Massify is an online film production network that unites film professionals and audiences in the pursuit of great film. We’re transforming the way films are made – using the power of networks and social media to make collaboration easier and engage audiences earlier. A fully-funded start-up based in lower Manhattan led by experienced media and technology entrepreneurs, we are looking for a distinctive talent to join our team in a key role.

The Interactive Creative Director will be a driven and talented entrepreneur who guides the creative evolution of massify.com – from ideation through design to execution. The ideal candidate combines an obsessive user focus with a strong aesthetic with restless innovative thinking – someone as comfortable creating interface elements as with designing a collaborative filmmaking application. This position is a working/leading role requiring hands-on execution as well as the ability to inspire and manage an agile design team. You will work closely with our development and product teams on a live product that uses the latest technologies to deliver leading-edge usability and functionality.

Responsibilities:

* Define and execute creative direction across all stages of project lifecycles, including product strategy, functionality and visual design
* Work closely with business team to conceptualize and develop partner programs for studios and brands that create integrated productions powered by the Massify community
* Work with the product team to distill complex requirements into a simple, intuitive, engaging user experience
* Help guide and inform product development with focus groups, story boarding and rapid prototyping

Requirements:

* Expert in web design and are deeply informed on usability, social technologies, and visual design
* Professional familiarity with front-end technology capabilities and limitations including CSS, HTML, XML, Javascript, Flex, and Flash
* Keen understanding of new media trends and collaborative networks; and have strong ideas for shaping its future
* Strong working knowledge of Adobe CS3, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator.
* Demonstrated success in evolving the user experience of a web product from a core community to a mass audience
* Believe the quality of your work is your calling card
* Significant creative design leadership experience at an interactive agency or web startup (minimum 5-7 years of experience)
