Producer/mtvU

mtvU is dedicated to every aspect of college life--from the music to the news to student life to campus events. The channel is designed to reflect the fast pace of students'' lifestyles, and to reach them everywhere they hang out, whether they''re watching TV in their dorm rooms, surfing the web, or walking across campus.

Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

• The Producer is ultimately responsible for executing strategies that increase site traffic to and create greater advertising and e-commerce revenue from mtvU properties.
Project Management
• Write Functional Specifications that include Feature Goals, Functional Requirements and Functional Diagrams.
• Create treatments, production schedules and distribute weekly status reports.
• Work with outside vendors to develop Statements of Work (SOW) and with Legal Department to coordinate approvals and payments.
Design
• Possess an intimate knowledge of the design process and ability to work with graphic designers to produce concepts, ad banners and site graphics.
Page Development
• Expertise with different screen resolutions, platforms, browsers and plug-ins, and working knowledge of Flash development and action scripting.
Technology
• Familiarity with three tiered architecture including Operating Systems, Programming Languages, Databases and Middleware.
• Expertise with content management and data collection tools.
• Knowledge of wireless technologies (WAP, SMS, MMS).
• Ability to analyze and evaluate 3rd party applications for licensing or acquisition.
Quality Assurance
• Develop application Testing Requirements and work with Quality Assurance department to formulate and execute Test Plans.
Marketing
• Oversee development of interactive and video ads and micro-sites for internal and external marketing initiatives.
• Ensure that all projects have visibility to internal and external search engines using best practice SEO.
Research
• Work with research Department to track metrics for all initiatives and refine those efforts based upon findings.
Computer Skills
• Expert with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Expert ability at hand-coding of clean, well documented HTML and CSS.
• Proficient with Adobe Photoshop and Visio.
Information Architecture
• Ensure user goals are factored into design by developing or assisting in the development of User Personae, User Goals Analysis, Use Case Studies, Wireframes and Site Maps.
• Enforce site standards including navigation, nomenclature, ad models and image sizes.

Required Qualification/Skills:
• Minimum 3+ years production experience in new media (on line, video content, syndication, music, etc.) or related industry.
• Strong knowledge of best practices and keeping abreast of industry developments.
• Demonstrated knowledge of production field with an emphasis on creativity as it pertains to concept and guiding the development efforts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills ensure they coordinate and focus efforts between departments, vendors and their own reports.
• Strong PC skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint.
) • Ability to work well under pressure.

Desired Qualification/Skills:
• Knowledge of Photoshop and HTML Editor.
• Bachelor’s degree.
