Product Web Manager
EDAW Inc., a world leader in landscape architecture, planning, and environmental services, has an immediate opening for a Web Product Manager to join our Firmwide group in San Francisco.
The Web Product Manager will be responsible for defining the strategy and managing front- and back-end development of EDAW’s web and digital media projects, including the company’s corporate webring, intranet, Flash announcements, and email campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Web development, knowledge of Web 2.0 technologies, and be able to work in a deadline-driven, highly collaborative environment with graphic designers, writers, and marketing staff as well as with EDAW’s programmer and webmaster. Project management and big picture thinking are essential, as is an understanding of the core elements of interactive marketing.
Duties:
Research and define near- and long-term needs and goals of EDAW’s public websites and intranet, applying Web 2.0 technologies where they serve the firm’s wider goals.
Increase EDAW’s visibility/hit rate on external search engines (Google, etc.)
Manage the buildout and launch of new or revised Web and digital media projects, contributing to front- and backend development where appropriate.
Liaise with IT, communications, and graphics personnel to leverage in-house abilities and evaluate the need for consultants in select cases.
Consult with internal user groups and departments to determine scopes of work for one-off Flash, AJAX, Wiki, blog, or other Web-based special projects (including templates). Execute or manage the execution of such projects through launch and/or distribution.
Research, customize, and support integration of third-party software with existing EDAW systems.
Develop and apply testing plans and procedures to ensure a high and consistent quality of user experience.
Supervise webmaster. (This will initially be a shared responsibility.
Requirements:
Two years’ experience in a corporate environment.
Ability to manage long and multi-stepped projects from start to completion.
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a complex, team-oriented environment.
Willingness to be located in SF Bay Area.
Proficient in HTML/XHTML, CSS, XHTML, JavaScript, and Flash, within the Visual Studio.NET environment.
Capable of using Adobe Photoshop and/or Fireworks to optimize Web graphics.
Familiarity with SQL Server, MS Access, and deployment of video and interactive media via the web are plus points.
Some programming skills are desirable, but not required.
