Project Manager, Social Media

The Project Manager, Social Media has primary responsibility for planning, tracking; managing and helping to define the project they are assigned. He/she is responsible for assisting in the direction of resources required for meeting the project objectives. He/she is also responsible for ensuring appropriate management, customer and vendor involvement throughout the life of the project.

The Project Manager, Social Media is responsible for managing project schedule and task details and utilize project management tools such as reports, tracking charts, checklists, and project scheduling software (MS Project and Niku Clarity) and to delegate appropriately. He/she must be able to manage change and take active leadership in timely decision making. Finally the Senior Project Manager must be able to identify issues proactively, resolve conflicts, escalate if necessary, and champion the project across the organization and with customers.
# Define the project management process to be applied to the project.
# Responsibility for the successful delivery and timeliness of development projects.
# Preparing project plan and obtaining management approval of the project plan.
# Assuring that all team members understand their roles and accept their responsibilities
# Making sure project resources are applied according to the approved project plan.
# Pulling together upfront estimates of time and resource utilization.
# Analyzing risk and mitigation accordingly, including establishing contingency plans and initiating corrective action.
# Tracking and reporting on progress to plan, as well as analyzing actuals and making adjustments consistent with plan objectives.
# Keeping all stakeholders informed of status and issues.
# Managing customer relationships, acting as liaison between the brand and the Technonolgy group.
# Facilitating the clarification of functional requirements and project objectives.
# Involve functional expertise in design reviews and key decisions as well as risk strategies.
# Ensuring that project priorities are clearly communicated and understood by project team.
# Arbitrating and resolving conflict within the project.
# Coordinating participation of different tech and production groups in requirements gathering, specifications, design, development and implementation of key projects.
# Developing and promulgating department-wide project and production management processes.
# Learn, understand and actively use the Clarity project management tool and ensure that the project plan, issues, risks and changes are reflected in the tool. Also, ensure that all team members are reporting their actuals within the tool.
Required Qualification/Skills:

The Project Manager, Social Media should have at least 3 years experience, though more than 5 are preferable. Qualifications and skills of the Project Manager include an ability to lead and motivate people and encourage teamwork, an ability to communicate effectively with senior management, and a clear vision of what determines a successful product for the brand. In addition, the Project Manager must have a technical background sufficient to understand the technologies and technical issues involved with the product, to be able to anticipate and identify critical obstacles.

Experience with:
# PMBok, Agile or other project management methodologies
# Solid experience in a professional technical project management environment.
# Expertise in an online businesses environment.
# Working with site management, department heads, producers and product developers; and with technical staff: management, project managers, development tech leads, QA.
# Management of tech vendor relationships and outsourced development projects.
# Working in an internet-oriented production and development environment
# Managing large technical or interactive projects.
# Demonstrating superb written and verbal communications and presentation skills.

Education:
# Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
