Web Designer/Developer for Luxury Magazine Publisher (Freelance to Direct Hire, Midtown Manhattan)

Title: Web Designer/Developer
Client: Luxury Magazine Publisher
Location: Midtown Manhattan
Type: Freelance to Direct Hire

Overview:
The Hired Guns have been tapped by our client, a publisher of luxury magazines, to find a web designer/developer. And quick.

With ten titles currently in their portfolio, these guys are ready to propel their Web presence up to the same stellar standard as their print reputation. They are growing fast and looking for that special someone who can come in and help shape things online. This is a fast-paced work environment that will keep you on your toes -- so be ready to dance!

Gun Profile:
You've been working in the Web, both designing and developing sites, for at least three years. The development aspect is key; you've got to be comfortable hand-coding HTML and CSS, and it would be ideal if you had some familiarity with JavaScript. Basic Flash knowledge is necessary -- advanced knowledge would be a giant bonus, as would knowledge of PHP. You've got to be able to multitask between some mundane projects, as well as complicated tasks, and be a whiz at prioritizing.

Nitty Gritty:
Some of the work will involve creating sites from scratch, but a lot of it may also involve updating outdated templates and manipulating code to fit the confines of their old and cranky CMS. Right now there's one person handling the design and development for ten sites; you'll need to bring some great design and vision to their sites, while at the same time be ready to do some basic maintenance.

Inside Skinny:
If this client sees online content sites in your portfolio, they're going to stop and stare. And they are most interested in someone who is looking for a permanent gig, following a whirlwind freelance courtship.

Net-Net:
If you're up for the challenge and have the design and development chops, send us your resume and portfolio stat; this gig starts mid-April.

How To Apply:
Email a cover letter (required) with your most recent resume attached to luxurydevgig@thehiredguns.com. Please write "Lux Web Designer gig - WebProducersOrg" in the subject line of the email. The cover letter should detail your experience relevant to this opportunity and include the reasons for your interest in the position.

No phone calls or faxes, please.
