Web Developer
POSITION OBJECTIVE: This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining assigned web based applications for the company’s Internet operations. The ideal candidate for this position demonstrates competency and proficiency using PHP, MySQL, XML, and other open source tools to build interactive web applications in a Linux environment. Position will work closely with various web development operations throughout the company to ensure that Bonneville provides world-class online media products.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience developing and maintaining web applications using PHP, MySQL, and XML in an open source Linux environment. (Must be able to demonstrate programming competencies in PHP and at least one other programming language.)
• Prefer degree in computer science, information systems, or related field. Prefer C/C++ or Java programming experience.
• A good working knowledge of DHTML related technologies, including JavaScript, DOM, CSS, and AJAX.
• Ability to understand, utilize, and troubleshoot using various networking protocols, such as TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, and SSH.
• Ability to design, architect, analyze and engineer scalable solutions.
• Experience using regular expressions to quickly solve a wide variety of text parsing problems.
• Must be able to demonstrate and prove a thorough understanding and importance of the following in an Internet solutions environment: security, redundancy, business continuity / disaster recovery, documentation, reporting, etc.
• Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
• Work effectively in a corporate team environment and project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor
• Maintain a positive and cooperative rapport with staff, management, and clients.
• Consistently work hours required. Work more when required to meet deadlines including weekends, holidays, evenings, etc.
• Project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to work odd hours as needed to respond to emergency situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
· Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
· Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion.
· Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination.
