Web Developer

Introduction
Dada Entertainment, a market leader in the mobile entertainment and web community space, is seeking an intermediate-level PHP/Perl Developer for its New York office. Headquartered in Midtown, Dada Entertainment, a joint venture owned 50% by SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT and 50% by Dada USA, provides direct-to-consumer mobile digital entertainment and web community services marketed through both off-deck and a-la-carte storefront distribution channels, including, web download and subscription models.
The successful candidate has experience with web development using PHP/Perl and MySQL. S/he must have good knowledge of development tools, techniques and have proven experience architecting, developing, debugging and fixing performance critical web based applications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Web Developer’s responsibilities will include:
Develop, maintain and support large, high-availability, web based applications and reporting tools
Learn and understand existing platforms and their daily operations
Develop and maintain feature add-ons to the existing platforms
Develop and maintain new web applications based on the existing platform
Assist in managing the development life cycle from conception to testing and deployment

Education / Experience Requirements
BS in Computer Science or equivalent
2-3 years of PHP programming
2 years working with MySQL
1-2 years Perl programming
2 years of Software/Web Application design experience
Understand Object Oriented Programming design
Basic Shell Scripting Knowledge
Intermediate Javascript Knowledge
Intermediate XML Knowledge with at least 1 year experience working with XML documents programmatically
Working knowledge of XML/XSLT, DHTML/CSS
Understanding security issues surrounding deploying distributed, large-scale web-based applications
Ability to manage multiple tasks to challenging timescales
Ability to work with technical and non-technical team members
