Web - Graphic Designer

Funded NYC social media start-up focused youth sports is seeking a rare breed of Web/Graphic Designer - one eager to unleash all of the creative concepts they've absorbed exploring current social media, producing online interactive experiences and hours invested playing games.

This rare opportunity to join a veteran team with impressive partners targeting a hot yet under-served segment is ideal for a self-starter versed in (and ready to one-up) the 2.0 world. Ideal candidates know the tools…Flash, XHTML, CSS, etc…but also usability and graphic design. They iterate with an eye on metrics yet know how to listen to their gut. And, they're ready to serve a massive audience.

Responsibilities

• Establish a simple flow yet it surprises consumers in creative and interactive ways
• Work with product and technology to create/execute visual designs that serve the needs of the market, brand and user requirements
• Refine our visual identity and extend it to applicable online/offline media while maintaining brand consistency
• Continue to education yourself of new methods, programs or approaches to web design and interaction
• Interact as a core team member brainstorming solutions and assisting in prioritization of projects

Requirements

• Proven portfolio of successful consumer focused website design

• Strong visual design chops to apply down to the last detail
• Expertise in XHTML, CSS and Flash
• Experience with Illustrator, Photoshop and Powerpoint
• Terrific oral and written communication skills
• Ability to incorporate feedback and refine projects as needed
• Strong curiosity around the social media space
• Deep understand of interaction and workflow design
• At least five years experience as a designer working with a web production team
• Desire to win and win big
