Senior Front-End Engineer

Location: San Mateo
Like.com is the first and only style search engine with true visual search. Our massively-distributed processing architecture indexes millions of product images a day and makes them searchable by color, shape and pattern. We are located in San Mateo, California.
Position: Senior Front-End Engineer
We are looking for a web ninja to lead front-end development for a brand new fashion oriented site. You will be building out a critical channel for our unique, patented computer-vision technology.
All candidates must have several years experience working on high-traffic consumer web sites, and mastery of:
- ActionScript. You should be comfortable with AS 2.0 and 3.0 and be able to maintain codebases in both versions. You know how and when to use Flash-cookies.
- JavaScript frameworks like jquery, prototype, dojo, YUI. You should be able to compare/contrast the frameworks and know the quirks of ones you’ve used.
- Cross-browser issues. You know exactly how to test and debug each browser and can quantitatively identify performance bottlenecks.
- Third-party integration. You know the pitfalls of third-party cookies. You’re familiar with cross-domain issues in both DHTML and Flash.
- Version control systems like CVS, Subversion.
- Bug-tracking systems like Fogbugz, Bugzilla.
- XSLT
Ideal candidates will also have experience with:
- Advertising networks like DoubleClick, Right Media Exchange, Platform-A
- Any Java-based MVC framework (Spring, Velocity, Struts, JSF)
- Photoshop
- Adobe Flex, AIR
- Facebook API
- Bookmarklets, Firefox extensions
- iPhone SDK, Android
