Web Designer

Investor’s Business Daily/Investors.com is looking for a Web Designer to join our creative team. The ideal candidate is a highly independent self-starter with at least three years of experience who is looking for a job which is both challenging and fun. This candidate must possess expert CSS/HTML skills with the ability to code their own work, and a solid grasp of print design.

Responsibilities:
• Interactive Design- Design for new and existing Investors.com products and advising on usability and improvements.
• Animation – Design and develop dynamic Flash components.
• Print Design – Create layouts for ads, marketing collateral, and logos. Familiarity with preparing files for printing is essential.
• Other duties include design and build of email marketing campaigns, landing pages, registration pages and product demos.

Professional Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree and experience in a web-related environment.
• 3 years of experience in web interface and layout design.
• Fluency in CSS and HTML, understanding of CMS programming, and the ability to produce accurate and high-quality work.
• Understanding of the elements of good design, html production and web process.
• Must be able to deliver high quality work consistently and on time.
• Ability to manage deadlines and production scheduling on numerous, concurrent projects.
• Able to complete tasks independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Self-motivated with positive attitude.
• Prior experience with an agency or in-house environment a plus.

Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Flash.
• Superior HTML skills, knowledge of web standards, with the ability to hand code.
• Strong understanding of CSS. Candidate should have the skills to use CSS to control layout and knowledgeable of advanced typography techniques.
• Familiarity with Javascript, Actionscript and video for the web.
• Strong conceptual development, typography and interactive design skills.
• Experience with tools such as Responsys, Aprimo, and Visual Studio a plus.
• Must be able to work ON-SITE in the Marina del Rey area.
• Experience in investing/financial arena is a strong plus.
