LeWeb Organizer Loic LeMeur Replies To Seesmic Questions
by Allen Stern on December 11th, 2008
Earlier this week I wondered why the LeWeb conference in Paris wasn’t utilizing the Seesmic video service. I questioned the decision both from an overall video coverage standpoint and also from the "conversational" standpoint. I still believe there were so many places that Seesmic could have been injected to provide value to those at the conference, viewers at home and most importantly the Seesmic company itself.
This morning LeWeb organizer and Seesmic CEO Loic LeMeur replied to my post via Twitter:

[...] this year I wondered why Seesmic founder Loic Le Meur wasn’t using his own service in favor of other video tools including Ustream and [...]
Seesmic was there. They had a nice size booth and it was staffed and had computers/cameras set up. I think they were doing interviews and such, saw a bunch of Seesmic hats.
the truth hurts to hear :-)
pascal – is that the behavior of a venture-backed w/staff ceo?
I’d say it is not. It’ pretty unprofessional and shows a certain level of immaturity.
Allen raised some valid questions. If LeMeur decided to answer, he should have done it professionally with valid answers. Who knows, maybe there were some good reasons he choose not to use Seesmic for the broadcasting.
Now, we’ll never know. We simply know that he responds off the cuff without forethought. Let’s hope he doesn’t run his business that way.
No definitively, that astonishes me because it shows business immaturity , but I suppose problems of scalability at seesmic, at the top, more than 2′100 simultaneous connections ìs far away from the seesmic servers possibilities.
I agree with Allen on this one and on the other hard questions he’s asking of venture-backed CEO’s. There’s too much hype in this industry, and what Allen does is constructive. These are example of Worst Practices and should be avoided.

Sorry Allen, I do enjoy your articles but really must agree with the guy. Reasons in the appropriate article. A bit shocked after the comments that you would take up another page with this personal vendetta. Nothing like some good publicity, though; I hadn’t even checked out Seesmic until finding your posts :).
