Liveblogging TechCrunch party!
I am liveblogging the TechCrunch party in California. Please continue to refresh this page to see the latest updates. Now you might ask, "Allen but you are 2958 miles away, how are you live blogging?!?!" Welp, I am liveblogging through the Ustream feed. Lots of blue shirts - I am thinking this is a signal that they have somehow either advertised, been written about or somehow used a TechCrunch service.
There is another service doing some kind of event coverage called Kyte.tv. I have tried to watch it but its just some static pictures and a chat. Ustream is better so far. The Ustream guys are doing quite a nice job! Some in the chat have said Kyte is focusing on taking pictures of the women at the party. The sound on the Ustream is not great so I am doing the best I can.
So I will bring to you whatever they bring to us via the camera. So far we have seen pitches (and my quick comments) by:
- LinkSV - some kind of database you pay for to get info on other silicon valley companies
- PBWiki - wiki provider
- MyQuire - wore some kind of cape :)
- Newteevee - Joanne - she was actually great on the camera
- Diigo - this guy went on way to long and the audio was bad but it's some kind of favorites tool
- Jeremiah from Web-strategist stopped over - he and Joanne should host a show as they seemed to work well together - they could call it GigaOM tv :)
- Standoutjobs - absolutely no idea what this guy said
- DoMedia - something about monetizing anything she said
- EastwickCommunications - they work with companies in SV on public relations
- Brian Oberkirch stopped by to show off his new pandora hat - he is working with Carson Systems on Future of Web Apps
- Like.com - visual search for shopping
- BOX.net - a file sharing service - some chatters think the guy is under 21 but drinking?
- ClearStone Venture Partners - a vc firm - meet with 10 startups a week (i couldnt make out if they invest in 1-2 a week or if they call back that number) - they have offices in santa monica, california and mumbai, india. David Stern was on the camera and was absolutely excellent. He answered everyone's questions openly and honestly. BEST OF THE NIGHT!
- Jeremy Wright from b5media was the unofficial "dad" of the chatroom
- James Thomas from Skinnyr stopped by to offer weight loss tips after beer drinking
- Andrew Major from ideacodes (a design firm) - he looks like Jason Calacanis!
- Mark Hendrickson from TechCrunch - he's a new intern - they have 6 interns and 4 staff on the TechCrunch main site
Liveblogging complete. Thanks to Ustream for the feed.

I agree..he was the rock star tonite..
I forgot that this was going on... nice coverage.
Rex
you need to get a life. who live blogs a party that your not invited to? Actually, who watches a party on friday night.
Friday nights are so overrated. They are so cool for the peons who work 9-5 from Monday to Friday and never get out otherwise. But wait, if you live on a farm or in "small-town, somewhere" that's your only chance. :D Aww, too bad.
I say f* Friday nights.
But you have time to anonymously comment on a blog telling people to get a life? You need to get a life AND an attitude adjustment.
Allen:
Are we related? We're the Stern's from Germany! (For the uninitiated, Stern is sort of like "Smith".)
I'm not sure why anyone would not be honest and open, but seriously, thank you for the kind words.
We could be related - my family from what I understand is from Germany and Austria. Original name was Morgenstern but they dropped the Morgen when they arrived to the U.S.
