reminds me of this - http://www.lifeblob.com/ , though mixin seems to be much more integrated with the usual but popular suspects :)

@manuscrypts yes it's similar in a sense when you look at the notion of structuring data over time, but mixin is also very different as it is focusing mainly on the future. It's more a layer to share activities that will/could happen, then comes the pictures, comments, videos produced during this event once it happens.

mixin is really future oriented. It helps you know what your friends are going to do the following week, if they are available, or where they will be. You can simply enter this information with the simple syntax "what @where when" and your friends will be notified by email or by IM. Then the discussion begins and once the event is decided, mixin will automatically collect your twitter messages, flickr images, qik videos based on the timestamp.

For info, the timeline you mention is in fact an HTML signature ;-) You can also use it on your blog, but a badge is in the work for that.

For the integration with your calendar application, we made a choice to allow people to publish activities from gCal, Outlook, iCal by invitating mixin@mixin.com to the event. That is where we are now, but things may change, so don't hesitate to send us your feedbacks.
