MySpace Launches Transmissions - No, It’s Not an Auto Repair Social Network
MySpace has announced this morning the launch of MySpace Transmissions. The program is described as, "a music program that empowers top recording artists with a new platform to create and distribute exclusive video content available for viral distribution and audio tracks available for purchase in the U.S. MySpace Transmissions underscores the company’s commitment to building unique music programming and business models that benefit labels, bands, and fans."
The program feels a lot like AOL Sessions - basically they bring in the artist, shoot some videos, some outtakes, etc. and publish them on a dedicated channel on MySpace.
James Blunt. Blunt recorded five tracks exclusively for the MySpace community including his new single "Same Mistake" and participated in a video Q&A available within the MySpace Transmissions profile and within MySpaceTV.
"Transmissions allows me the great opportunity to connect directly with my fans," said James Blunt. But the fans just listen, I don’t see much in how James will "connect directly" except for a forum with no posts in it. The site seems 50% complete.
