While I do see the vaule in potential interactive elements to game telecasts, would streaming games make up for the revenues made from the high rights fees currently paid by the broadcasters and cablecasters that cover the NFL?  At this point, I don&#039;t think so.

With the advent of internet TV, and the continued move from serving broad audiences to many niches, big time sports is one of the last things remaining which can deliver a huge audience, without advertisers worrying that viewers will Tivo it and skip ads.  The NFL and the other major sports leagues won&#039;t abandon that revenue, and the broadcasters who pay top dollar won&#039;t allow streaming games to devalue their ad rates, unless they get some of that online revenue.</description>

		<description>Interesting. Actually, I&#039;m able to view the NFL network in Alameda via the city&#039;s own cable provider - Alameda Power &amp; Telecom. 

It was definitely a good game and a shame that the NFL would try to monopolize audiences with a proprietary channel like this.</description>

Yea, I now hear that some small cable operators carry it. I don&#039;t care much for either team but there isn&#039;t anything on thursday nite tv so I would have watched it :)
