Lodwick’s Startup Norbum Goes Live – Photos of Homeless – WTF?
by Allen Stern on January 1st, 2008
Update Wednesday – David Karp tells Silicon Alley Insider that he has no idea what this Norbum is. David’s statement: "I’m not involved with Norbum, I don’t know what it is, and I would never make fun of homeless people."
Update – Thursday – Jakob Lodwick notes that this .org site is not his either.

I can’t believe anyone would consider that this ISN’T a joke :)
Its just a *really* bad joke. And I dont mean bad as in not funny. I mean bad as in a really bad statement to make even in humor. What is funny about people living on the street that have far less than you. Where is the humor in that. If you were homeless would you think it was funny. Should we so marginalize people who live on the streets so that they are worth nothing more than a joke. Very disturbing stuff.
For all those who found this completely absurd, about half the “DOs and DON’Ts” from Vice Magazine are exactly this. It isn’t unheard of. See the magazine
Ok, lets say that they have some ulterior motive. Some more high minded idea to play this out. Or perhaps a joke. The thing it is so tasteless and insensitive that it really doesn’t matter. Its like calling someone an ethnic slur and then going… oh just kidding cant you take a joke.
This is really unfortunate.
is this a joke allen?
haha… yeah, it’s a joke. In fact, every response they’ve given so far is a joke, including Karp’s pointing to a movie trailer and saying it had something to do with that.
In fact, I would even doubt now that they’re working on this together. Come on Jakob, I found you out… give us a real clue. :)

yea i figured as much – lol
I wasn’t making any judgment on the quality of the humor involved — just saying that it’s obviously not _actually_ serious, which appeared to be debate.
