Is Online Video Currently NY’s Greatest Asset?

Earlier this week was the NY Video Meetup. Somewhere around 250 NY’ers attended and viewed a variety of demos and a healthy video discussion. One thing rang true throughout – online video is HOT here in the city. So many companies, so many ideas and a amazing level of excitement/passion around online video.

Here are just a few of the companies in the online video space in the NYC area. I certainly forgot a bunch, so please leave them in the comments.

Hey I have been using Kyte.tv for months and now have a fan following. It’s a great tool for me since i take a lot of photos. The chat feature is cool too since a lot of people ask where i take my photos and now I have the means to answer them.

If you are looking for a little levity, we have a running comedy show, now on winter hiatus, called stop me if you heard this – http://www.stopmeifyouheardthis.com

We run it off of Magnify, and love them.

  6. beYOU.tv is an NYC-based online video service offering fitness and wellness video including yoga, pilates, tai chi, qigoing, bootcamp, motivational, meditation, spiritual and more. beYOU.tv provides a unique viewing experience for its users through three viewing options: videos may be watched for free with advertising, purchased and downloaded (free of annoying DRM) or users may subscribe for a low monthly fee to watch uninterrupted fullscreen video. beYOU.tv is the lovechild of DoubleOne Media LLC and is the first of many sites focused on the large instructional video space (sports enthusiasts stay tuned).

    Don’t forget kyte.tv!

You can make your own channel and produce shows [video, pictures, polls, etc.] via online or through your phone by using the cell phone application :)

And among some of the best features, there is instant messaging chat [text, audio and webcam] on your channel. Talk with others about your content instantly right then and there!

    Don’t forget neovids.tv. 4 web series currently in production…
