Path 101NY-based Path 101 has announced that they have raised an additional $200,000 today. Basically they reopened their angel round that they announced last February. The additional funding is coming from NYC Seed. This moves the total angel investor count to 21.

Path 101 co-founder and CEO Charlie O’Donnell tells me that the public launch will happen in a few weeks and that this new injection of capital will help the company to gain traction after launch.

Path 101 describes their mission as, "helping people of all ranges of experience discover the career that’s right for them. By analyzing the data embedded in millions of public resumes, Path 101 aims to expose lots of information about the available opportunity set, career paths, skills, job descriptions, education requirements, etc."

O’Donnell is also the founder of the nextNY technology group based in NYC with hundreds of active members.

  1. This is really good news for Path101. I covered them in a past episode of my video show http://thewebmix.com/2009/01/15/the-web-mix-show-12/
The episode was all about sites to help people get a job and I really liked the features that Pah101 had at the time and I think they are going to continually improve.

I took their personality test and let me tell you: they nailed it. It very accurately described me. I was impressed.

  2. Congratulations to the Path 101 team!

The idea to mine resumes for career insight is incredibly smart. I’m looking forward to seeing them continue to build tools around this resume dataset and also excited to see the impact those tools will have on helping people get into the right careers.
