PayPal Down? Fatal Failure!

I’ve been trying to use PayPal for a good while now and on my first load, I received the error message “Fatal Failure” as seen below. It looks like PayPal might be down currently. The page says nothing else besides this pretty scary error message. Refreshing the page provides me with one of three types of page loads:
- “Fatal Failure” error message
- A page that loads with no styles
- A normal page
As many have suggested on Twitter, for a service that is basically a bank to tell you that they are currently having a “fatal failure” is probably not the best message to share with customers if there is a hiccup in service. I will wait until the all clear horn is sounded before logging in just in case.
As with all down errors, leave a comment if you are experiencing the same issue when attempting to use PayPal.
Same here – Fatal Failure – on the PayPal mobile API on the sandbox – lovely.

Paypal is not loading for the last 2 days…. I am trying to pay for my online order the last two days and it seems just impossible! Amy suggestions for alternatives?
Set your privacy settings (tools > internet options > Privacy) to medium-high. Close the browser and try again.
yeah, it was working fine just over two hours ago but now i’m getting an error for every paypal page.
Down in the UK , Was doing some testing this morning and reads bad request , need to fix this fast as i have just sent out email to buy products at the wrong price
paypal has been down again for the past 2 hrs
All this week on and off, this morning too!

I cannot connect to PayPal.com or PayPal.com.au today – not from home, and not from work either. It times out.
All other websites are fine.

I’ve been trying to access all morning and the page just freezes up when I try to log in… not good!
I just signed in without difficulty.
I had gotten that message this morning. I then got in and had to reset all of my passwords and security questions. I then learned that I had two $30 unauthorized charges to a gaming site named Nexon. I wonder if there is a connection.

yup… got the same error for awhile today. Seems to be fixed now though.
https://www.paypal.com/pt is working fine for now!
And now when I tried to open the page it retrieved a file named “webscr” that is an: application/octet-stream, asking to open it or save to computer! very strange…

tried to login trough the UK website and getting the same problem like here at the Portuguese one…
I’ve googled it and it seems that’s a recurrent problem for the last months, although it never happened to me until now.
One question:
the “Request Money” feature its the same as “Invoice”, but without the details and receipt format? It appears with the same aspect and function to the recipient, right?
Yep same here – slightly terrifying for a user to see! PayPal = Fail.
