Product Manager, Blogs
The Product Manager is responsible for managing core social networking products through the entire lifecycle. Product Manager’s will gather and prioritize product requirements from executives, sales, marketing, support and engineering. Product Managers will define the product vision and steps to accomplish that vision. They will work closely with engineering, to deliver world class products and will work with international, sales, marketing and support to ensure success metrics and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager’s will ensure that the product and marketing efforts support the company’s overall strategy and goals.
The Product Manager is expected to:
1. Define the product strategy and roadmap
2. Deliver PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification
3. Manage product backlog
4. Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
5. Be an expert with respect to the competition
6. Set success metrics
7. Measure and report against success metrics
8. Represent company stakeholders throughout the process
9. Manage timeline and report delays to all stakeholders
10. Work with sales team to monetize product
11. Act as the product champion within the company
Required experience and knowledge
1. Experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager
2. Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
3. 3+ years of experience in a job in the subject matter market
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
5. Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred)
6. Technical background, with experience in subject matter
7. Excellent teamwork skills
8. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
9. Experience with social networking and web 2.0 concepts a plus.
